 Pamukkale is perhaps the most popular place in Turkey as a national park and a spa center. Imagine a water source day by day depositing high percentage of the calcium carbonate on the high cliffs around Pamukkale and creating these travertine in 14000 years. Which looks like a pile of cotton wool  ,this is the reason Turks call it Pamukkale '' Cotton Castle''.

Even in antiquity it Pamukkale was named as Hierapolis ''the holy city'' because of the healing and curing powers of the water at Pamukkale Roman's used to make long distance travelings from all around the Roman empire just to come to Pamukkale to find a remedy for their illnesses.

Marmaris is located at the south west of Turkey  and the driving distance from Marmaris to Pamukklae is 210 km ( a journey of three Hours )  gives people  a chance to go and visit Pamukkale  during their stay in Marmaris. The tours from Marmaris to Pamukkale starts around April till the end of October but you can find private tours or  cars with driver all year long.The local travel companies in Marmaris do organize this tour three days of a week.   ''The ancient cemetery with 1000 graves. Tour groups enter Pamukkale from the south gate , necropolis is at the north gate ,so it will be right on the  other side of the area but if you are        determined you can still do it. ''

Note that 3 hours is never enough so you must make your mind about what you going to focus on before you visit Pamukkale. On these local tours breakfast ,lunch ,hotel transfer and the entrance fee to Pamukkale is included in the price.
